Old Fashioned Whiskey Cocktail

The old fashioned whiskey cocktail is making a comeback. I couldn’t be more thrilled.

Ready

• 2 ounce rye whiskey
• 1 teaspoon simple syrup
• 2 dash Angostura Bitters
• Slice of orange for garnish
• Orange zest
• Cherry for garnish
• ice

Set

• High ball glass
• Stirer
• Zester

Go

1. Rub the highball glass with the zest of an orange.
2. Add ice to glass.
3. Add Whiskey.
4. Add bitters.
5. Stir gently.
6. Garnish and serve.

What you should know

Beware of recipes that muddle in an orange and cherry. These just make a syrupy mess.
