Cheddar and Chive Biscuits

Here is a great side to soups, chilis, or for breakfast just by themselves. Makes about 20 small biscuits.

Go

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper into large bowl.
  3. Rub butter into dry ingredients until it resembles course bread crumbs.
  4. Add cheese and chives and stir tko mix.
  5. Make a well in the center of mixture.
  6. Add buttermilk and stir vigorously until batter comes away from sides of bowl.
  7. Drop batter in mounds (about 2 Tbsp) onto baking sheet spaced about 2-3 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12 –15 minutes, until golden brown.

What you should know

For cheddar and bacon biscuits, substitute 3 Tbsp crumbled, cooked bacon in place of chives.
